Luna is a rescue who shakes at the vet. Jo sat on the floor with her for ten minutes before even turning the water on. She trotted out with a bandana like she owned the place.
The price board is real. My doodle was $95, the website said $95, I paid $95. After years of “well, his coat was a bit much today” at other places, that means a lot.
Self-wash on Sundays is our whole routine now. Twenty-two bucks, the kids do the scrubbing, and the hair stays in their drain and not mine.
Cat-only mornings are genius. No barking, one quiet room, and my 14-year-old Persian came home fluffy and not furious.
How a groom goes
Pomelo & Pup is Camila and Jo, two groomers who met working the back room of a big-box store and wanted a shop with no back room at all. The grooming floor is behind glass. You can watch the whole thing.

Sniff-around
Five unhurried minutes to meet the groomer and the table before anything buzzes.

Warm bath
Two shampoos and a conditioner picked for the coat. Oatmeal for the itchy ones.

Hand dry
A person with a dryer and a brush. We don’t own a cage dryer.

The cut
Same groomer, same notes as last time, photos on file so “like last time” means something.

Pickup text
A photo and a heads-up 15 minutes before they’re done. Most grooms take about two and a half hours.
